All exercises used within CrossFit are functional movements, meaning they are movements we as humans perform daily. We squat, we push, and we pick things up from the floor. Contemporary furniture and conveniences has been a threat to our natural human movement. Toddlers have perfect form in sitting down in a squat because their bodies aren’t used to sitting in a chair for 5 hours a day.
Here are Desert Forge CrossFit, we will teach you how to reposition yourself to perform these movements the way our bodies are meant to. Age and background do not matter because no matter how different we are, we all have one thing in common: we are all human. We all move the same way but our lack of flexibility or strength may be holding us back from our true potential. All movements can be modified to fit your capabilities and our coaches-trainers will be there alongside you in your struggle. We have to struggle/work to become better at whatever it is we are pursuing. And the GREAT thing is — you do not have to struggle alone. CrossFit is also a competitive sport. Many athletes train for competition, which is big within the CrossFit community. You have the option to test your progress in a competitive environment where everyone has a similar goal: to be better than they were before. Many police, firefighters and military spec. op units use CrossFit in their physical preparedness. It will prepare you for anything.
